Flooring Direction Calculator

How it works

Suggest a board direction based on the chosen visual priority.

Simple example

For a hallway, boards running along its length usually reinforce the long view.

Common question

Is this a construction rule?

No. Subfloor, joists and product instructions can affect installation.

This is a planning estimate. Check product instructions, dimensions and site conditions before purchasing or building.
