How Gas vs EV works

Gas cost per mile is fuel price divided by MPG. EV cost per mile is kWh per 100 miles divided by 100 times the electricity rate. Multiply the difference by annual mileage.

Assumptions and limits

Energy costs only. Purchase price, insurance and maintenance are not included. Charging losses can increase EV energy use.
